About ROAM Solar
ROAM Solar, Inc. specializes in repair and maintenance of solar photovoltaic systems in the residential and small commercial space. We also provide custom services in design and installation of new systems, upgrading and expanding existing systems and special projects such as removing and replacing rooftop solar when the building is getting a new roof installed.
Our newest design and installation projects are battery-based systems which provide power during utility blackouts and helping to reduce the power bill. Older solar photovoltaic panels were generally designed to face south. Meanwhile, the utility has changed their rate plans to charge more in the late afternoon and early evening. Using batteries shifts the benefits of solar power back to the time of day that gives us best return on investment.
Because we work on older solar systems, many of our clients were early adopters of solar photovoltaic and have been stuck when their original installer went out of business. The popularity of solar caused the market to be saturated with solar installers. Some were looking to make a quick profit and then leaving with no intent on standing behind their warranty. A number of other companies have merged or sold their residential business to other firms. Despite existing warranties on solar panels and inverters, installation companies often will not work on systems where they did not perform the original installation.
Both situations have left solar system owners stuck with no help if maintenance issues show up.

NABCEP PV Installation Professional
The NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification is a voluntary certification that provides a set of national standards by which PV Installation Professionals with skills and experience can distinguish themselves from their competition. Certification provides a measure of protection to the public by giving them a credential for judging the competency of practitioners. This is North America’s only renewable energy personnel certification that has been ANSI accredited to the internationally recognized ISO/IEC 17024 standard.
Certified Level 1 Thermographer
Thermography is a technology that actually allows us to see thermal energy or heat. Thermography can be used in any circumstance where the identification of thermal patterns can be used to diagnose a condition such as a poor electrical connection or a solar panel which has damaged cells. Electrical problems that are difficult to recognize with the naked eye are easily discovered through Thermography.
